Magazine illustration has chronicled American life since for more than a century,
from the days of Thomas Nast, through the great Fortune magazines covers of the '30s and the work of Norman Rockwell, to today's contemporary magazine illustrators.

This illustration, by Michael Gibbs, was created for The Washington Post Magazine,
for an article on the achievement gap between white students and minority students.

Michael Gibbs has a portfolio of additional magazine illustration on his website.
